The Parable of the Spoons

My wife forwarded this email over to me, I thought it was too good not to share...

The Parable of the Spoons

A holy man was having a conversation with the Lord one day and said, "Lord, I would like to know what Heaven and Hell are like. "The Lord led the holy man to two doors. He opened one of the doors and the holy man looked in. In the middle of the room was a large round table. In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew which smelled delicious and made the holy man's mouth water. The people sitting around the table were thin and sickly. They appeared to be famished. They were holding spoons with very long handles and each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a spoonful, but because the handle was longer than their arms, they could not get the spoons back into their mouths. The holy man shuddered at the sight of their misery and suffering. The Lord said, "You have seen Hell."

They went to the next room and opened the door. It was exactly the same as the first one. There was the large round table with the large pot of stew which made the holy man's mouth water. The people were equipped with the same long-handled spoons, but here the people were well nourished and plump, laughing and talking. The holy man said, "I don't understand." It is simple" said the Lord, "it requires but one skill. You see, they have learned to feed each other. While the greedy think only of themselves.

"A friend is someone who reaches for your hand, and touches your heart."

Chunking Hard On Them Fools!!

"May the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in Thy sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer." – Psalms 19:14

I love them Psalms mane, they’re always right on point. David wrote a lot of the Psalms when he was hiding out and on the run for his life. When King Saul was trying to hunt him down and kill him. Whenever you’re under some serious duress, it will make you dig deep into your soul and cry out to your Creator.

Everybody can’t feel that.

Some folks are still shutting up their ears and closing their eyes and refusing to acknowledge the fact that there is a Supreme God who molded and created them. An all knowing God that knows how many hairs are on their head. A God that wants them to seek after Him and follow His paths that He has prescribed for His children to walk.

Ya’ll know who I’m talking about right?

All of you folks who don’t believe that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God, so you play the Bible off for being just another book, cuz that way you don’t have to take heed of what it says. Your common lament is that the Bible has been changed by man or the agnostic copout of,

‘Who really knows who God is?? Everybody claims to be His chosen folks, the Jews think Christians are going to hell because they’re not kosher, Christians think Muslims are going to hell because they don’t believe that Jesus Christ is the Lord and Saviour of us all. Muslims think Jews are going to hell because they don’t submit to the 5 pillars..Who knows???.”

So instead they lay their premise of the ‘Unknown God’ out there and go about doing whatever feels good to them and don’t feel accountable to any law, faith or ‘religion’.

But invariably, when these same people are put to the test of life. When their lives are put into a vise and everyday it’s cranking down tighter on their souls, literally squeezing the life out of them..then they have a way of easing back and listening. Reading about this God that I have been trying to tell them about. Finding out more about THE Book that He left as a lamp (Psalm 119:105) for all of those who are called by His name.

The Bible is a life manual for all of the children of God.

Some may believe in universalism. They know that man is set apart from all creation as the only being made after God’s own image, the only creature with a soul. So they falsely assume that just because we live, we will all return to God in glory once we die.

Here’s a newsflash that a lot of folks don’t want to hear..EVERYBODY AIN’T GO MAKE IT TO HEAVEN.

Some folks are going to that other place where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. And it’s not because they weren’t told, preached, taught or hipped to the Grace and Mercy found in Jesus and Jesus Christ alone, it’s because they are too hard-hearted to repent and believe the gospel of Christ.

My first book, Real Game, has a chapter that outlines a history of the Bible and how it was delivered and preserved for mankind. But the fact is, no matter what I might tell someone about the Bible, I can break down the final events (Nehemiah 13:4-30) and final prophecy (Malachi 1:1-4:6) recorded in the Old Testament to the beginning actions (Luke 1:5-25) narrated in the New Testament (ca 424-26 B.C.), some folks still aren’t going to want to believe the Bible.

“Even though there were 400 silent years with no prophetic word from God during this time, the history of these years followed the pattern predicted in Daniel (2:24, 45; 7:1-28; 8:1-27; 11:1-35) with exact precision.” (MacArthur Study Bible, Introduction to the Intertestamental Period, p 1369)

Real Game goes through how we got the Bible, through Creation, to the Law and the Prophets, the history of Israel as a nation and how it leads up to birth of John the Baptist, the prophet who ‘let them fools know’ about the coming of the Messiah. So the first chronological record of the New Testament is when that angel came to Zacharias, to tell him about the coming of his son, John the Baptist,’ the voice in the wilderness’, and how John would get down..

“And he will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God. He will also go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, ‘to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children.’ And the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.” Luke 1:16,17

That’s when a lot of those Bible doubters start getting a bit agitated, because if all of that stuff in the Bible is true, they know they’re going to hell if they don’t change their ways.

That’s when the claws come out and they get ready to get down with me. But after awhile after throwing those baby licks at me of why they don’t believe..

If God only created Adam and Eve, then where did Cain’s wife come from?

If you read the 5th chapter of Genesis, you’ll see that Adam and Eve had many children., Adam lived to be 930 years old and there was 130 years between when Cain and Abel were born and when Seth was born, so obviously Cain married one of his sisters or nieces. Incest wasn’t illegal then cuz the blood was still pure enough.

Well..Bible folks say the earth is only 10,000 years old, but science has proven that the earth is probably billions of years old! So I can’t believe it!!

Bible folks may say how old the earth is, but the Bible never says how old the earth is, that’s just folks trying to date the earth via the geneaologies and historical records that are listed in the Bible. But it’s very much possible that there are gaps of time that the Bible doesn’t specifically illuminate that would account for this discrepancy. ( Although I DO believe in the literal 6 day creation. Go figure!)

And they recognize that I’m a game dog that’s ready to get down in the pit for my Lord with whoever..that’s about the time they start pacing a bit, trying to figure out their plan of attack of more reasons why they don’t believe. And those who have read a ‘lil bit of Bible’ may have more questions and reasons why they doubt the truth that’s found in God’s Word. But once they realize that :
1) I don’t claim to have all the answers,
2) the stuff I know..I know and can’t nobody tell me different and
3)I’m dead game for the Christ.

That’s when we have to find our fulcrum of respect, cuz I ain’t go give up for what I believe in. The faith I have is to the last breath, I ain’t go give up til I go up.

Although I’m a devout Believer that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God and I believe that Jesus Christ is the only way to get to God, that doesn’t mean I can’t respect another person for their beliefs. I have Agnostic friends, Jewish friends, Muslim friends, Buddhist friends..there’s a large range of folks that God has placed in my life, I’m not tripping.

Cuz I know that Jesus is not compulsive. He’s not going to hold a gun to anybody’s head and say, ‘Bow down to Me!!’

He wants us to come to Him as a personal decision that we make, not because we were forced or strong-armed..that ain’t right.

So when they see that I’m a Believer that can still hold a decent conversation, they have no choice but to listen to me or else acknowledge the fact that they ain’t ready to hear what’s real. Some folks just ain’t ready yet.

That’s why they only skim through the website, maybe just peeping the pictures, cuz www.servinemup.com is a lot deeper water than what they are accustomed to reading and they want to stay close to the shores of agnosticism where they feel in control.

I know because I used to be one of those people.

But once I reached a point where I realized that I didn’t know and I wasn’t even in control of the next breath that I take, I knew I needed help. I needed a foundation. I needed guidance. I needed direction. I needed strength, I needed a Redeemer.

Well, that’s when I locked in to that Word for myself and it’s words pierced into my heart and I was changed forever.

I could try to explain it to you all day everyday, but you’ve got to do like the Psalms says,

"Oh taste and see that the Lord is good, Blessed is the man who trusts in Him." – Psalm 34:8

That’s a Psalm of David too. David got down with his pen for the Lord, writing songs, prayers and poetry. David knew what it meant to be ‘going through’ and you can feel it in his words. But just like you can feel David’s pain and despair, you can also feel his hope and faith,

"Many are the affliction of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all." – Psalm 34:19

So the problem a lot of folks have, is that they cannot start building their house, they cannot start laying their foundation on the Rock called Christ (sorry Catholics, Peter ain’t THE rock!), because they have not cleared their land. They’re holding on to a lot of mythical teachings and religious ordinances that were created by man (i.e. Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny) that are not supported by God. And the only way you will be able to know the difference, is by studying God’s Word. Otherwise you place yourself at the mercy of what some other n’ga tells you.

Older generations told their young to believe in God and don’t question Him. So then you had a big backlash against God and what it means to be close to Him, especially in the ‘educated’ circles. 'Enlightened' folks don’t want to feel like somebody is peeing on their head and trying to convince them it's raining. So now we are in the midst of a great falling away.

People don’t want to bow down and acknowledge Christ, cuz it’s politically incorrect.

And then you have the ‘church’ folks who are doing more dirt than the heathens but just trying to dress it up as a ‘mission’ for the Lord..janky folks. And it makes others shun any form of devout service.

I try to explain to people that religions are made as man’s effort to reach up toward God. But I actually don’t consider myself a religious person, but rather spiritual. I don’t see Christianity as a religion, instead I see Christianity as God’s way of reaching down to man.

The only way to get real about God, is to get into that Word of God and see what He’s talking about.

You’ve got to know Him for yourself.

Otherwise, you will be ready to fall hook line and sinker for the next n’ga with a slick tongue that comes through talking about 'Jesus was just another prophet' or that 'God didn’t create man as a perfected living being, but rather man evolved from a monkey'.

I believe in evolution, but I don’t believe that man evolved from a monkey and I can tell you why. Coming soon…Intelligent Design.
